About a year after Ethan Monson-Dupuis died of an accidental heroin overdose, his mother, Robin Monson-Dupuis, woke in the middle of the night. She heard Ethan’s voice saying, “You’ve got to organize a race, Mom, about my fight against addiction.” That was the beginning of Ethan’s Run Against Addiction, an annual event that supports addiction recovery.

Robin and Jeff, Ethan’s dad, connected with Ethan’s high school running coach, Richard Dodd, who has his own story of addiction recovery. Rich became the race director.

Participants in Ethan’s Run Against Addiction run or walk in honor of those who lost their fight against addiction, and to support those who are still fighting.

Ethan’s Run Against Addiction provides an opportunity for action: a powerful remedy to the despair we feel when a loved one struggles with or dies from addiction.
