Ethan’s Fund: Supporting Recovery Through Serenity Inns

Ethan’s Fund Against Addiction honors the life of Ethan Monson-Dupuis, who passed away from an accidental overdose in 2016 at age 25. In his memory, Ethan’s Fund now supports Serenity Inns, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit dedicated to helping men overcome substance use disorder and rebuild their lives.

At Serenity Inns, recovery means more than sobriety—it means transformation. Many of the men we serve have faced barriers that often prevent access to traditional treatment: lack of insurance, financial hardship, unstable housing, unemployment, and the stigma that surrounds addiction. By not requiring insurance or the ability to pay upfront, Serenity Inns ensures that no one is turned away. Every man who walks through our doors is welcomed into a supportive, trauma-informed community where healing begins with compassion, structure, and faith.

Through a comprehensive continuum of care that includes a Drop-In Clinic, Residential Treatment Center, Transitional Living, and Alumni House, Serenity Inns walks alongside each man on his journey toward stability and independence.
